An indicative budget and equipment range for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects in New Zealand — calibrated to TPC's EPC delivery, AS/NZS 4777.2 inverter rules, and current NZ market benchmarks. Indicative only · not a binding quote.
A TPC engineer (not a sales rep) will email a copy of this indicative range plus a follow-up call within one business day.
A TPC engineer will email shortly with this range, plus a short call to walk through what would change in a binding proposal — site survey, network connection, ground conditions, and AS/NZS 4777.2 inverter selection.
Capacity factor 14–22 % depending on region (Northland highest, Southland lowest). Yield range: 1,100–1,450 kWh/kWp/year. Sources: NIWA SolarView, MBIE Energy Outlook, EECA business cases, plus TPC site data from Auckland, Hawke's Bay, and Central Otago installs.
C&I rooftop: NZ$1.65–2.40/W. Ground-mount 1–10 MW: NZ$1.45–1.95/W. Utility 10 MW+: NZ$1.15–1.55/W. BESS: NZ$480–720/kWh installed (PCS, container, fire suppression, install). Bands cover lines-company connection costs from low-strain to high-strain feeder upgrades.
Module count = DC (kWp) ÷ module Wp. Inverters sized at 350 kW per string unit (Sungrow SG350HX equivalent, AS/NZS 4777.2-listed). MVPS skids at 4 inverters each. BESS containers at ~5 MWh per 20-ft unit (LFP, liquid-cooled, NFPA 855 / UL 9540A compliant).
Outputs are budgetary estimates derived from public NZ benchmarks. They are not an offer, quote, contract, or representation under the Fair Trading Act. Final pricing depends on full site survey, geotechnical conditions, distribution-network operator (DNO) approvals, and final equipment selection.

Where Consumer Guarantees Act applies (residential or small business under $500k p.a.), TPC's binding quotes carry CGA guarantees of fitness-for-purpose, reasonable skill and care, and acceptable quality. This calculator's outputs are pre-contract estimates and not subject to CGA.
Any inverter we eventually specify will be on the EESS-approved list under AS/NZS 4777.2:2020. High-voltage works will comply with the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 and AS/NZS 3000. BESS will comply with NFPA 855, UL 9540A, and FENZ (Fire and Emergency NZ) acceptance criteria.
Utility-scale projects (typically > 1 MW or > 1 ha) often require resource consent under the Resource Management Act 1991, with fast-track pathways available for projects of national significance. The calculator does not size consenting cost or timeline. We can scope this in a follow-up.
All NZD figures exclude GST (15 %). Equipment is supplied CIF Auckland or DDP-site under TPC's standard incoterms; GST and import duty (where applicable) are added at landing per the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.
If you opt in to market updates, we comply with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe and identifies Hadid Group as sender. We do not buy, rent, or scrape email lists.
This calculator is region-locked to projects in New Zealand. For projects in Australia, the Pacific, MENA, Europe, North America, or Asia, please use our multi-region savings calculator or request a quote directly.
